The Perfect Style for Your Facial Shape

Here are a few guidelines to enable you to choose the best style that will highlight your facial features. If you are uncomfortable with your facial shape, or perhaps you want to highlight or conceal a feature, then consider a new style. Once you and your stylist determine the shape of your face, together you will be able to create the perfect style.

	Oval: Since an oval face is considered the perfect shape, any hair style will complement the facial structure.
	Round: A style that brings the hair toward the face with a side part is a good choice.
	Square: To soften the jaw line on a square face, the hair needs to be a bit longer with the bang at an angle.
	Diamond: The emphasis with a diamond-shaped face is to minimize the width across the eyes. This can be done by opening the forehead with a small bang to one side.
	Oblong: The key to the right style for an oblong face is to create volume across the eyes with bangs.
	Heart: A heart-shaped face can be enhanced with the bang coming to the corner of the eyes, and a side part.
	Pear: Side part and fringe at the jaw line.

Some additional thoughts on facial features:

• To take the emphasis away from a prominent nose, or chin, do not pull hair back, or tuck behind the ears.
  
  
• If your chin recedes, pull hair back to give the chin more focus.
