A: Pigments used in permanent makeup have been used by micropigmentologists and the medical profession for over 20 years! Allergic reactions are rare, but possible. Q: Who regulates your profession? A: Regulations occur on 3 levels: Federal, state, and local. The federal government controls use of ingredients in pigments and reports to the public. The state sets statute regarding requirements and restrictions, and the local county, through the health department enforces state statute and strict adherence to public and client health and safety issues. Q: How safe is the procedure? A: As with all invasive procedures, there may be some risk. All tools used are sterile and used only once, then are disposed. For your protection, proper aseptic techniques are applied in all cases. Q: How do I know if permanent makeup is for me? A: Always arrange for a consultation.
