Good Day to you, and Welcome to our World. My name is Grant and I am the owner and business manager of the The Salon and Day Spa and The Café. My wife and business partner Donna, or "Pooh" as I affectionately call her, have been married 25 years this coming June. I better have a special gift planned for this anniversary don't you think? We are highschool sweethearts who started dating at 15 and 16 years old. She was raised on a working farm, and I was raised in the city of Asheville, and had hair longer than hers. Oh how I wish I could have some of that hair now ( We are a living example of how opposites attract. My family moved to Hendersonville in 1968 so you can imagine the growth I've seen over the last 40 years. Our little "Mayberry" town has been discovered, can't say that I blame them, we are blessed to live in such a beautiful area. Our 23 year old daughter Tabatha is an ECU graduate and works in the criminal division at the Henderson County Courthouse, and our 21 year old son Darren is getting his electives out of the way at Blue Ridge College before moving on to Appalachian State. Psychology, criminal justice and culinary appear to be his passions.

I spent the first half of my working life in corporate America as an engineer and designer for Steelcase Wood Furniture. Great people, great company but now those those jobs reside overseas, such is the way of the world now. My hobbies and interests include baseball, reading, coin collecting, 'running away' with my bride for a long weekend, family activities, playing with Tonka and Lucy, supporting our 18 employees and growing our businesses. After debating for almost a year whether to join Donna in this endeavor, I left the company in 2000. Three days later my father passed away, so he never got to see our dream realized. I have a feeling he would approve though.

So after spending 20 years in a plant working with mostly men, and then coming into this environment with mostly women, you can bet that I didn't know diddly about skincare, hair, massage, permanent make-up and everything else beauty. But now I have discovered my so called feminine side, regular massages, pedicures, facials, et al. do wonders for the human body and psyche. There's a reason that women generally live longer than men, and I believe part of the answer resides in what we offer to our clients each and every day. Feeling good outside makes you feel good inside.

Owning your own business means so much more than just 'working' , if you want success you gotta love what you do ! Life is simply too short to treat it otherwise. Enjoy giving something back to those around you, always give just a little more than people expect and do it with a smile. With more than 5,000 clients to date I'd say we have a great formula for success. You'll find our beautiful staff friendly, educated and very professional. We do not want to be just another salon so we strive every day, with every client, to prove this. With three educators in house we provide continung education so that we stay on the leading edge of our industry and your service should prove this.
