Hi, my name is Amber. I grew up in Hendersonville, so naturally I am proud to call the Blue Ridge Mountains my home. I have two children and two high maintenance cats! Both of my children are active in sports and I have been lucky enough to coach East Henderson youth termite cheerleaders for the past three years. I enjoy time with my family, which is the most important thing to me.

Growing up my family and friends teased me for being 'prissy', which naturally I took as a great offense. How could that be true? As I got older I began to take notice of others appearance, not to judge them, just observing. At times I wanted to give guidance to those in need, but that would be rude. It was at this time I realized that I might possess a small amount of these "prissy" tendencies. I believed that I could really help people find their self confidence. But, I did not want to be the stereotypical "beauty shop" girl. I would be letting myself down by persuing something that seemed superficial. After deep consideration I realized creativity was more than skin deep. It is a great reward to make someone feel beautiful, so I chose to go with it. My career choice allows me to express myself, and I am passionate about it. Being a beauty specialist is my way to share the art of natural enhancement. I love to decorate people! Being prissy isn't all that bad. It's all about acceptance!

I have spent 12 years in this, and like those before me, I started at the bottom and worked my way up. Each day brings me a little more knowledge, especially working in this type of salon. My loves are hair, nails, facial waxing and make-up. I worked for five years as a salon coordinator and I apprenticed in a hands on Aveda Day Spa for three years. During this time I was an assistant to an Aveda master in hair, skincare and nails. My cosmetology degree was obtained in 2002. I have been doing nails for nine years and hair for six years, and isn't it nice going to work when you love what you do? It is my creative outlet so I truly enjoy trying out new ideas and styles.
